The widths of the slats have been a key selling point at different times for people to get new blinds. After aluminum-slatted blinds came out, they all had 2 inch slats. It was not until the 1960s through the 1980s that a new version hit the market. Everyone wanted the 1-inch mini-blinds.

During the 1990s, the craze went even further, with customers demanding 1/2-inch micro Venetian blinds. Fashion trends change with the times, and Venetian blinds are no different.
